The Spirit of the North

The northern marine spirit, inspired by the bow like quality of the buildings, spreads across a landscape of allusion.

The Ice Flow
Fire lanes outline the building shadows, cutting the landscape into floating icebergs that spread across an ocean of planting. Low planting slides between the icebergs, simulating the horizontality of the ice flow and capturing its colours of cold green, grey-green and white.

The Foam
Rounded waves of vegetation blend the light greens of the troughs with the simmering silver of the foaming crests to create a sculptured wave that rises from the ground.

The Wave Trough
Profiting from the calm of the patios, the rolling waves of vegetation smooth, becoming greener and denser.

The Open Sea
The building is backed by the open sea, a moving mass, thick and metallic blue. It is a single material that is shaped by the wind, the light and the seasons.
