The design for the Bioscope arose from a meteor shower that fell to earth, creating round impact points and shock waves that spread across the landscape, dividing it and creating distinct programme areas. Landscaped parking lots, maintenance areas, picnic sites, and playgrounds are tucked neatly within the disturbed landscape. Venturing in, the visitor emerges into a cirque that is multiplied as if by a million mirrors. Water is at his feet and stretches towards a horizon of peaks and valleys formed as a progression of water, plants and stones. A horizon that is uncertain.

Bioscope in figures: Landscaped parking lot for 650 vehicles of which 32 are accessible, parking lot for 32 buses, 3,500m2 entry plaza, 8,000m2 of pathways and routes for pedestrians, delivery and emergency vehicles, 10,000m2 of ponds, 25,000m2 of topsoil, 850 deciduous trees, 400,000 grasses planted on berms with a surface area of 20,400m2, emergent and water plants, 2ha of grassed slopes.
